LANDSCAPE PROTECTION
“Viles” of val Badia
The safeguard intervention on the typical “Viles of val Badia (Alto Adige Region) has been my first large scale professional effort, conducted with a team of architects, town planners and landscape architects in close collaboration with the public purchasers of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The Val Badia area is the best conserved geographic fragment of the ladinian-dolomitic material culture, and its viles (borough-towns with houses and barns) have always been socio-economic entities of great historical, anthropological, architectural and landscaping interest.

Il prospetto di una Vila
This project was characterized by an initial phase of widespread analysis and survey, with a thorough definition of the land’s typical morphologies which was then developed into an organic program for active safeguard, both in the construction projects and in the direction of the restoration of one specific vila, as well as in the compilation of a practical handbook for technical interventions.
